🌿 Day 12: How Do You Balance Work and Home Life?

BALANCE BABY BALANCE

Balance. Such a pretty word. Such a messy process.

Honestly? I’m not working yet not in the 9-to-5 office way. But I am a full-time college student, and let me tell you, juggling textbooks, deadlines, mental breakdowns, and a dream is no small feat.

For me, “work” means academics—assignments that pile up faster than my laundry, exams that sneak up like uninvited guests, and that constant pressure to “build a career.” And then there’s the other half of me—the wanderer, the writer, the daydreamer who’s always wanted to blog, to share her soul with the world, to live a life a little more poetic.

But here’s the catch:

Balancing doesn’t mean splitting life into neat little 50-50 pie charts. It’s messier. On some days, studies take the front seat. On others, it’s the words in my heart that demand to be written.

I wanted to start this blog ages ago. But I delayed maybe because of studies, maybe because of procrastination, or maybe because I was scared. Scared that following this passion might sabotage my “serious” life, my “career.”

And yet, here I am. It’s my 12th day blogging. I’m doing it. In the sweet in-between of summer break, I gave myself permission to chase something that lights me up.

So… do I manage to balance my work life and personal life?

NO.

But do I regret it?

That’s a big, beautiful, loud NO.

Because sometimes, chasing your passion is the best kind of chaos. 🌸💻✨

I am getting closer to retirement and have always wanted a life filled with writing. I am only just now committing to it. Building a family and working took priority. I don’t regret it but there are things I wish I knew. I hope you continue to feed this passion for writing. You do it well. A career will sustain you financially but not always your spirit.🩷

I will subscribe and I look forward to reading more!

I started blogging 10 years ago, but took a break for a few years when life got in the way. Getting back to it now, I really regret not staying consistent during that time. Wishing you the best of luck and if I could share one line of advice: Start small, but stay steady. The magic is in the momentum.

Goodness, they should make t-shirts out of that. It is like the secret to life revealed in a single sentence. Thanks 🙂
